Rehabilitative Exercise

Rehabilitation is where physiotherapy continues its work long after the initial injury has settled. While early-stage treatment focuses on managing pain and restoring movement while protecting the injured area, rehabilitative exercise is the phase that follows — the bridge between being symptom-free and reaching optimal recovery.

This distinction matters. Many people stop managing the problem as soon as the pain disappears, assuming the job is done. But symptom-free doesn’t mean problem-free — strength, control, and movement patterns have often altered and don’t necessarily ‘bounce back’ without training and focus on relearning them.

Being left to your own devices at this stage cuts the service short and puts you at risk of injury recurrence.

At Bodywell Active, we see things through to the end, returning you to your prior activity level or your sport via a progressive rehabilitation exercise programme. Movement rehabilitation starts early within the physiotherapy service, then becomes more focused, specific, and challenging as you improve — re-educating your movement and returning you to an active lifestyle, your sport, or your day-to-day function.

Our rehabilitation exercise service can also be used as a standalone service if there’s a specific movement problem you want to address — a better golf swing, pain-free gardening, better upper body strength, or improved endurance to sit with better posture at work. Training your body to move as efficiently as it can is achievable.

Our rehabilitation exercise service can be accessed as 1:1 sessions with a physiotherapist, or

you can join a variety of small group classes:

  • Brawn Blokes

  • Supervised Rehabilitation

  • Strong Strides
